Bligh Barker y Sydney Crocker describian así la imagen de su grabado de 1839: ”The plaza of Vitoria is of modern construction, and of singular beauty; it is here the market is held; and here, the occupied labourers assemble, each with the implements of his calling, as of old, in the market places of judea, seeking employment.”
